About Grammage

Grammage is an online family recipe book. You take a photo of a handwritten recipe, AI transcribes it into text, and the recipe joins a notebook that you leaf through like a book and share with your family through a simple link. Grammage has no connection with getgrammage.com, a website eco-design tool that happens to share the name.

Why Grammage exists

Grammage started as a personal project of its founder: digitizing his mother's recipes without losing her handwriting. Hence one simple rule: the photo of the original recipe always stays next to the transcribed text.

What Grammage does today

• Digitize: one photo of a handwritten recipe is enough. AI extracts the title, ingredients and steps, and the original photo is kept. 10 free photo scans per account.
• Type or paste: recipes you type or paste from an email or a document are unlimited and free, with no AI involved.
• Organize: notebooks, and folders inside each notebook.
• Leaf through: every notebook reads like a book, page after page.
• Share: one link is enough, your family reads the notebook without creating an account.
• Install: Grammage installs like an app on phones and computers (installation guide).

What Grammage does not do (yet)

• No recipe import from websites, no meal planning, no shopping lists.
• Printed book: not available for now. Soon you will be able to print your own book yourself from your notebook.
• Pricing beyond the 10 free photo scans has not been set yet.

Your recipes stay yours

• Your notebooks are private by default. A notebook is only visible if you share it, and a recipe only appears publicly if you choose to publish it.
• You can ask for your account and data to be deleted at any time from the Contact page.
• Details are in the privacy policy.
