How to share family recipes

Updated

To share family recipes, create a notebook in Grammage, then invite your loved ones with their email address. For each person you choose: "Read only" to look, or "Can edit" to add their own recipes, memories and photos. For a quick look, you can also send a link that opens without an account.

Family recipes are often scattered: a notebook at Grandma's, a recipe card at an aunt's, a dish only one cousin still knows how to make. A shared notebook brings them together in one place.

Two ways to share

The reading link: the simplest

In your notebook, tap "Share", then turn on the public link. Copy it and send it by text, by email or in the family group chat.

It's ideal for a grandparent who just wants to look, or for family who live far away.

The invitation: to take part

Still in "Share", type a relative's email address and choose their role:

The person then creates a Grammage account with the same email address. The notebook then shows up for them, under "Shared with me".

Important: the invitation doesn't send an automatic email. Let the person know yourself, for example with a short message: "I've added you to Grandma's recipe notebook. Create your Grammage account with this email address, and you'll see it."

Who to invite, and with which role?

Everyone adds their memories

With the "Can edit" role, every family member can enrich a recipe:

Little by little, the notebook doesn't just keep the recipes: it also keeps the memories that go with them.

Frequently asked questions

Do my relatives need to create an account?

Not to read with the share link: it opens without an account. To take part and add recipes, the person needs to create a Grammage account with the email address you invited.

How many people can I invite?

You can invite several people to the same notebook, each with their own role: read only or can edit.

The person I invited can't see the notebook. What should I do?

Check that they created their account with exactly the same email address as the invitation. The notebook then shows up under "Shared with me".

Can I remove someone's access?

Yes. In "Share", you can remove a person from the list of invited people. And you can turn off the reading link at any time.

Does the shared notebook stay private?

Yes. Only the people you invite, and the people you send the reading link to, can see the notebook.
